WELCOME TO irena's world

A LITTLE ABOUT the artist

Her art has traveled the world! Irena has collectors from Russia, Canada, Mexico, and across the USA.

Irena Bowren's birthplace starts with the "Silk Road"... Tashkent, Uzbekistan. A country where tulips grow wild, cotton fields stretch to the horizon, and mountains tower in the sky. Graduating from Tashkent University with a degree in Electronics Engineering, she moved to the United Stated 20 years ago..
It was 2008 when Irena first took an interest in painting. She started with art classes given at a local community college. She continues to take sketch classes at San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA) and also workshop classes conducted by artist Edward Povey. Her chosen media: Acrylic, Photography, Pencil and Oil.
Irena has an affinity for everyday moments, seeing beauty in settings others may miss. Her wide array of subject matter includes human portraits, churches, and animals of every sort. Her love of nature is expressed in her paintings and photographs.
She is a member of two galleries: The New Braunfels Art League, the River Art Group of La Villita, San Antonio and Yellow Rose Gallery, Rockport, TX. She is also a member of the Randolph Art League of Universal City.
Irena has received awards from New Braunfels Art League for her paintings and photographs. Her art was accepted for juried art shows (Inspire‚Äôs Juried Art Show 2016 and Juried Art Show at Movement Gallery 2016). She also provided pieces for Art for Their Sack, a Friend-raiser Art Auction and Animal Adoption event for SARA.
